Cubic Zirconia Versus Swarovski Crystal
There are a few key features of Cubic Zirconia which distinguish it from Swarovski Crystal:
Hardness: Cubic Zirconia has a rating of approximately 8 on Mohs hardness scale vs. a rating of only 6 for Swarovski Crystal making Cubic Zirconia less prone to scratches.
Cubic Zirconia also has a higher refractive index than Swarovski Crystal giving it more sparkle – to the extent a Cubic Zirconia is indistinguishable from a real diamond to the untrained eye.
Only the rarest of diamonds are truly colourless, most having a tinge of yellow or brown. By comparison, Cubic Zirconia is entirely colorless: equivalent to a perfect “D” on a diamonds grading scale.
